BENGALURU: A KSRTC bus conductor on Monday returned a bag containing Rs 2.5 lakh worth of gold ornaments that a passenger accidentally left in the vehicle.

KSRTC officials said a group of four passengers boarded the Bengaluru-bound bus (KA10F0381) at Kollegal on Sunday. They got down at Channapatna without taking the bag containing two necklaces, two earrings and one stud, all worth Rs 2.5 lakh.

When the bus reached Bengaluru on Monday, conductor M Jayadeva found the unaccompanied luggage with the valuables.

“I traced the owner, Unnisa Syed, based on information I found in the bag, by which time she had informed Ramanagara police,” Jayadeva said.

The passengers were called to Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station and the jewellery was handed over to them after verifying their identities. KSRTC has given an appreciation letter to the conductor for his honesty. The passenger was also happy to get her belongings back.
